Time Warner's Turner renders apology for CNN's erroneous nerve-gas report

The vice chairman of Time Warner Inc., Ted Turner, made a personal apology for the Cable News Network's (CNN) incorrect nerve-gas report. Mr. Turner is the founder of CNN. He made the apology in front of a gathering of reporters at the 1998 cable-programming press tour. Mr. Turner said that he was "terribly embarassed" about the report. In June 1998, CNN showed a report that asserted the US military utilized never gas to kill US defectors during the Vietnam War.
