Modularity, component outsourcing, and inter-firm learning
Article Abstract:
Complex designs activities and product systems, and associated supply chain issues are managed by using the strategy of modularization of product architectures. Component outsourcing is possible with standardized interface specifications, both with respect to the division of tasks in functional specification and detailed engineering of product architecture.
