New developments in business forecasting
Article Abstract:
Causal forecasting is vital in assessing the sales impact of events, actions and other factors. Such can be achieved by utilizing the cause-effect modeling to gain an understanding of and to quantify the effects of a causal factor on normal sales patterns. Causal modeling techniques, such as multiple linear regression and neural net technology, are employed initially to determine the relationship among a group of independent factors with a dependent variable.
