The performances of airlines in Australia are likely to be down as the South-East Asian countries are offering low-cost air transportation services. Qantas expects to beat the trend as it has also added low-cost no frills airlines to its repertoire. The survival of some of the airlines in this competition is doubtful and invariably there will be consolidations on the scene.
