Issues concerning the market performance of investment funds over the period 1990-2000 are discussed. Particular attention is given to ways in which investment funds have been affected by the economic slow-down and low performance registered in the sectors fo telecommunications and IT.

Issues concerning saving from the age of twenty five for retirement are discussed, with particular focus on Australian superannuation funds. Methods of educating young people about the importance of starting to save for retirement are examined.
