RACV profit leap

Royal Automobile Club Victoria, essentially a non-profit organization has ambitious plans of increasing its funds beyond insurance. It is in all plans to expand its business into the motor vehicle industry. The company has posted a net profit of $86.7 million in 2003-04, four times to that of the previous year's profit. It credits' it's success to its Insurance Manufacturers of Australia division, a joint venture with the Insurance Australia Group. Colin Jordan, chief executive talks more on the company's other joint ventures and expanding the services it offers to its members.

Paul Stoddart, a majority owner in Minardi Formula One and European Aviation spare parts, had a car auction business and a small aviation business in Melbourne before moving to England. His goal is to ensure the long-term viability of Minardi and eventually challenge for the formula one championship.
