Vietnam celebrated the 20th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, which occurred when communist forces took the South Vietnam capital of Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City, on Apr 30, 1975. South Vietnamese and US veterans were excluded from the festivities.

Records fall at track championships

New world records were set in the men's triple jump, the women's 400-meter hurdles and the women's triple jump at the World Track & Field Championships held in Goteborg, Sweden, from Aug 6-13, 1995. A long jump record was disqualified due to wind conditions.
