Article Abstract:
Specialty retailers, which comprise a diversity of firms, had a generally good Christmas selling season in 1997, even though prospects and results were mixed for several companies. However, high employment, low inflation and interest rates, and other signals for the US economy are positive for the industry as a whole. Investors need to be selective when choosing these stocks, both for the short term and the next three to five years.

Article Abstract:
Statistics of some of the companies in electric utility industry of the eastern region and their securities rankings as of March 3, 2006 are furnished. The infrastructure of transmission and distribution systems needs to be upgraded. The industry also needs to control air pollution. More capacity is needed to meet the demand. These factors are likely to drag the industry down.
