Changes in the ranks and the rankings of global accounting firms began when Andersen, the world's fifth-largest firm, was destroyed by its involvement in the scandal surrounding the collapse of Enron. The top four firms that are Deloitte, PwC, KPMG and Ernst & Young fought to secure Andersen's talented staff and partners, after Andersen's collapse and there was unprecedented turmoil in the ranking of the top 10 firms.
