NAA salaries
Article Abstract:
A survey of 1,266 National Association of Accountants' (NAA) members throughout the US reveals that most NAA members: are 35-39 year-old males with baccalaureate degrees, are employed by manufacturing-related firms, and earn about $56,000 a year in salary and other compensation. The responses indicate that salaries are higher based on age, professional certification, and gender. The salaries for members aged 19-24 years are around $24,000, while those aged 60-64 years earn about $64,000. Male respondents report salaries averaging $51,664, while female respondents report an average of $35,661. The survey indicates Certified Management Accountants earn a little more than CPAs, and both earn more than members not certified. Members employed in manufacturing areas report the highest average salary at $49,510, and those working in government positions report the lowest figure at $36,962.

Salaries 1994
Article Abstract:
The results of the Sixth Annual Salary Survey of the earnings of the members of Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) for 1994 are presented. The study shows that 63% of the IMA members have salary increments that average at $3,564, or about 6%. Although average 1994 salaries are higher than 1993 salaries, the difference is not actually that statistically significant. A noteworthy difference is the inclusion of more IMA women members in the study. Results reveal that these women have lower average compensation than men, as explained by such factors as young age, lack of degree and inability to spend more time in the accounting field. The study also presents data on compensation by region, responsibility and position as well as compensation by firm size and SIC area.
