NEC Corp. to hold controlling stake in Packard Bell

NEC Corp. announced that it will make an additional $225 million investment in Packard Bell NEC Inc. NEC will also incorporate Packard Bell as a subsidiary. This will give NEC control of the Packard Bell, a personal-computer manufacturer based in the US. NEC is planning to convert some of Packard Bell's preferred shares into common stock. Groupe Bull will also make an additional $25 million investment in Packard Bell.
