'Huckleberry Finn' is considered racist by many because of the manner in which the African American character Jim is portrayed. Twain wrote the book after the Civil War, and much of the criticism stems from its lack of addressing the issue of slavery. The book presents a high moral tone.

Crimes against children: the trend in mysteries
Article Abstract:
The increased number of crime books that feature children as victims is a way that fears of losing children can be redressed, but the story needs to examine the deep and real relationship between adults and children. The inclusion of children should be central to the plot of the book.
