Showbiz winners: now you see 'em, now...
Article Abstract:
Earnings for Australia's wealthiest entertainers fell overall despite a rise in the top 50 list benchmark for 1997. The baseline increased from $850,000 in 1996 to $1 million in 1997, with the highest slot taken by Mel Gibson at $61 million. Average income, however, dropped to $3.7 million, down from 1996's $4.1 million. Half of those listed in 1996 did not make 1997's list.
