Smooth Move
Article Abstract:
A decade ago, it was predicted that Chicago would be the leading financial futures capital. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange has supported that prediction with its move to new headquarters, which constitute the biggest trading floor in the world. Members are pleased with the move to the new seventy thousand square foot facility where contracts are all placed together. There are quadrants for agriculture stock indexes, currencies and interest rate items. A second floor was planned for added growth. Some believe it will open as soon as 1985 because of expansion. The pits have received positive reactions for both design and flexibility. Standard & Poors traders, however, think their pit may be too large.
