Alinta's bid for takeover of Australian Gas Light (AGL) is discussed. AGL has issued a counter bid to thwart the takeover. In this context, the market capitalization of AGL, which is almost three times larger than Alinta's becomes an important factor. However, Alinta does have first-mover advantage.
