Statistics of some companies from steel (integrated) industry and their securities rankings as of April 28, 2006, is furnished. The industry has recorded good rate of growth over the last two years. There is no reason why it will not continue to grow in the current year also. However, increase in interest rates and prices of iron ore will slow down the rate of growth. Long-term story looks good in case of U.S. Steel.
