In the past few years worker's compensation for mental illnesses such as stress and depression has increased. Compensation for mental illness is much higher than physical illness and it is a major concern for business. Simple changes in workplace, identifying depression early in employees and supporting those suffering from mental illness could reduce stress levels in employees.

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), disqualifying persons who committed crime resulting in the breakdown of HIH Insurance, is discussed. Those disqualifications are now under review again and some of them have been cancelled.
