It is possible to make savings of up to 30% on the cost of insurance coverage by purchasing insurance through an Australian superannuation fund with pre-tax salary. Death and total and permanent disability is the most popular type of insurance offered by superannuation funds, but around one-third of funds offer income-protection insurance.
