Tackling Micro-Mainframe Incompatibility Problems
Article Abstract:
The incompatibility of microcomputers with mainframe computers is causing problems for large organizations using both. According to Mr. Dennis Connaghan of Panasophic Systems Inc., mainframe companies need to realize the importance of microcomputers, subject to software control, as decision making tools in their systems. Mr. Dennis Vohs, vice president of Management Science America, points out that many applications can be done on micros using mainframe data bases while data processed on micros can be sent back in batch mode, saving mainframe time and communications costs.
