The requirement for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to promote a fair and sustainable competition in the telecommunications market is discussed. Operational separation model to separate Telstra's wholesale and retail market is cited as a strategy to reduce its dominance in the telecommunications industry.
