Telecommunications services industry
Article Abstract:
It will be difficult to predict the economic future of the individual companies within the telecommunication services industry or the industry as a whole until courts decide the many suits brought about by the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and the cases that will arise from pending Federal Communications Commission rulings. Although Internet advertising has not lived up to its financial expectations, Internet and e-mail will be the most important communication media for the 21st century. Investors should base their decisions on individual company performance and consider acquisitions, technological advancement and marketing efforts as strengths.
