The Value Line view - economic and stock market commentary
Article Abstract:
A review of US economic trends is presented. The monetary policy that the US Federal Reserve is likely to follow, in the light of increase in consumer spending and payrolls, is discussed. There is bound to be some pressure on interest rates due to resultant inflation. Other issues like increasing Middle East tensions and oil markets that are likely affect the investments are also discussed. Keeping in view all the above factors, the likely course that stock markets will take is indicated.

A brief review of the economy and stock markets as of April 28, 2006 is furnished. Homebuilding activity is likely to slow down in United States. Interest and inflation will continue to climb at modest pace. Overall, stock markets will more or less continue at the existing pace provided the political situation across the world does not change.
