The dynamics of succession in family businesses in Western European Countries
Article Abstract:
Family businesses are a major economic factor in western countries. A research based on empirical data on Austria and Germany is done where both interdisciplinary and dynamic perspectives are proposed to shed light on generation changes in detail, and recommendations are made for future dynamic/systemic research on succession, as almost one-third of takeovers are risk cases in which business succession is not planned in advance.
