The foreign direct investment decision process: case studies of different types of decision processes in Finnish firms
Article Abstract:
A study attempts to illustrate the foreign direct investment (FDI) decision process in five foreign manufacturing ventures made by Finnish business enterprises. Mintzberg, Raisinghani and Theoret's strategic decision process model is used to analyze the FDI decision behavior. Cases were chosen on the basis of differences in data on the background of investor companies, the process and the situation. Results were found to be in line with past FDI research work and the behavioral investment theory.
