The Big Four accounting firms in Australia are casting only on universities like University of Melbourne, Monash University, and Deakin University rather than on the graduates, even though the companies deliver their recruitment programs in all the university in Australia. The percentage in which different universities contributed in the recruitment is discussed.

The simultaneous resignations of Greg Larsen, chief executive of CPA Australia and Stephen Harrison, chief executive of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia are discussed. It may be recalled that both the chief executives chose to resign on February 16, 2005 and neither knew of the date of resignation of the other.
