The impact of alignment between virtual enterprise and information technology on business performance in an agile manufacturing environment
Article Abstract:
The changes faced by the manufacturing firms in United States in a business environment are discussed. The research done to explore the link between information technology (IT) and virtual enterprise (VE) and the positive impact of the alignment between IT and VE on the business performance compared to the impact of IT and VE individually is analyzed.

Organizational knowledge and the manufacturing strategy process: a resource-based view analysis
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to propose a model of manufacturing strategy process from a resource-based view perspective. A total of 104 firms were used in the study. Findings show that cross-functional activities integrate manufacturing knowledge and contribute to the creation of rare and valuable product characteristics.

Plant roles and decision autonomy in Multinational plant networks
Article Abstract:
Results of the research suggest that the lead plant might not have absolute control over important decisions in a multinational manufacturing network. It also suggests that developing a positive interdependence between the business headquarters and the other plants results in enhanced production.
