The limits of business self-regulation
Article Abstract:
Businesses prefer to regulate themselves but such promises of self-regulation are not as effective as external watch dogs. Self-regulation benefits are usually limited to public goods that are vulnerable to free riders. An alternative to such a situation and to government control is afforded by collective action administered by a peak organization.

Article Abstract:
The managerial beliefs of American and Chinese managers in Taiwan were surveyed, revealing some major differences in values and perspectives. However, a trend towards cultural adaptation appears to be developing for both groups.
