The moderating effects of external monitors on the relationship between R&D spending and firm performance

Research shows that securities analysts directly impact firm performance, but do not moderate the research and development spending and firm performance relationship. Institutional investors moderate the form of this relationship, while independent outside board members moderate its strength.
