Many firms have benefited from participation in interorganizational systems (IOS). However, participating members should cooperate in the implementation of IOS if they want to realize in full the benefits they can gain from these systems. The interorganizational and organizational factors behind the adoption of IOS is examined in the context of electronic data interchange.
