South Korean conglomerate Daewoo, headed by chairman Kim Woo-Choong, has been gaining world market share in televisions, cars, VCRs and several other products with its aggressive global management strategy. Daewoo's success can be attributed to Woo-Choong's vigorous leadership. The company has focused on foreign markets like those of emerging former Communist countries. A common strategy is to seek out insolvent companies for take-over.
