Things are looking up
Article Abstract:
The use of upward appraisal is recommended as a means of evaluating manager performance. Under this system, the performance of supervisors is rated by their subordinates. This is especially important since a different point of view could provide management with insights on employee performance. An upward upraisal system must be clearly defined in function and its objectives explained to personnel. A personal approach geared towards productivity improvement may be utilized, along with appropriate rating schemes and evaluation criteria.

Preempting the late show
Article Abstract:
One of management's problems is getting salespeople to submit their expense reports on time. Certain disciplinary measures, such as penalizing the employees have been tried, but it is likely that actions such as withholding wages could create legal problems for the company. One suggestion to help solve the problem of late submission is to do away with cash advances. Also, the issuance of corporate charge cards billed directly to the employee will induce them to make timely submissions.
