Timeshare starts to restore a tarnished image
Article Abstract:
The timeshare industry in Australia between 1960 and 1980 used aggressive sales tactics that resulted in a tarnished image. However, timeshare operators argue that the industry has changed and is growing rapidly. Australia's timeshare resorts are located in Victoria and Queensland. Perceptions are still negative, but those who have attended a sales presentation are generally satisfied.

An auctioneer steps into a new dimension
Article Abstract:
Peter Pantling owns Australian Independent Auctions, based in Sydney, which took in about $390 million in the first half of 1998. He has spent $80,000 to create a multimedia site that he hopes will enable him to conduct online auctions on the Internet. Video-conference auctions have met with limited success, and a trial online auction received only one bid.
