Tire & rubber industry
Article Abstract:
The economic slowdowns in Latin America and Asia has put prices in the tire and rubber industry under pressure during the 1990s, and this has led to an uninspiring outlook for the industry. However, the industry is going through a period of acquisition and merger activity and this, along with enhancements to efficiency, will make the industry more profitable in the future. These stocks are timely for 1999 and the year 2000, but their prospects for the the next three to five years are less appealing.
