Tire & rubber industry
Article Abstract:
The pricing environment for the tire and rubber industry has been soft in 1999 and many companies in this segment are cutting costs and also consolidating on a worldwide basis to overcome this. However, for 1998 and 1999 the companies which comprise this industry are forecast to be in the upper third of timely stocks. These stocks are expected to perform well for investors for the next three to five years, as well.

Tire & rubber industry
Article Abstract:
The tire and rubber industry's near-term prospects are uninspiring. Most of the tire/rubber firms tracked by Value Line have below average timliness rankings, reflecting the tire market's poor performance and the possibility of a broad economic slowdown. The market value of tire/rubber stocks has fallen sharply, but their three-to-five-year appreciation potential remains subpar.
