Toy industry
Article Abstract:
Strong branded and unbranded lines, such as radio-controlled vehicles and movie tie-ins, are helping toymakers survive retailer attempts to pare down the number of products they carry. A significant entertainment, educational, and game CD-ROM software industry is also being created by the growth in home multimedia personal computers. Mattel is the most timely stock in this industry, with a large off-season, global market share.

Toy industry
Article Abstract:
Increased sales of multimedia personal computers (PCs) comprises the biggest threat to the toy industry in 1995 and 1996. Although less than 25% of US homes have PCs, not all of which are multimedia, toy companies are now producing entertainment and CD-ROM software. Toys which are produced under license to popular tie-ins also do well. The sole timely issue for toy stocks is Mattel, while others must wait on holiday shipments.

Toy industry
Article Abstract:
The toy industry's revenues and earnings are expected to be higher for 1995 than they were in 1994. What will be the best selling toys for 1995 is not certain, but but all toymakers have license agreements for movies due to be released in the summer of 1995. The growing multimedia PC and CD-ROM market in Europe and the US may decrease the market share for toys. Mattel is the only stock in this industry that is timely.
