Toy industry
Article Abstract:
Seventy-five percent of the toy companies had poor earnings in 1994 and are expected to lag behind other industries for the near term. "Power Rangers" from Bandai was the industry leader for licensed toys. Other licensed toys, non-licensed toys, and non-toy industries, such as multimedia and CD-ROM, are can capture consumer dollars and market share. Only Mattel, producer of "Barbie" dolls, is a timely investment.

Toy industry
Article Abstract:
The shift in consumer spending toward CD-ROMs, PCs, and entertainment software is not hurting the toy industry, as did video games. CD-ROMs are being produced by toymakers Mattel and Hasbro, as well. Sales trends for toys will become more stable as product categories become more diverse, and there will also be a market share for the usual toy products. Mattel is the best toy industry stock for investors in 1995.
