Trade deficit narrowed in September

The Commerce Dept reported that the US trade deficit dropped from $8.36 billion in August to $8.35 billion in September. Experts are skeptical about the decline, believing that it is a brief pause in the US trend of spending more money on imports than exports.

Trade gap narrows sharply in October

The merchandise trade deficit shrank in Oct 1992 to $7.03 billion from $8.58 billion in September. The value of exports reached a one-month high in Oct 1992, moving up 3.4% to $39.19 billion. Import dropped in the same period 0.3% to $46.22 billion.
