The complications involved with the personal tax cuts as announced in the 2004-05 budget are discussed. Thought the new tax policy reduces tax burden on the lower-earning families' through investment income-splitting, investors should be cautious about revamping their share portfolios to gain more exposure to consumer goods and travel stocks, which are anticipated to increase following the tax cuts.
