U.S. House tightens economic embargo
Article Abstract:
The House passed a bill on Sep 21, 1995, that would allow people who had property seized in Cuba following the 1959 revolution to sue future foreign investors who profit from the seized property. An amendment to the bill that would have allowed US firms to sell medicine and food to Cuba was defeated.

U.S. Senate passes embargo bill
Article Abstract:
A toned-down version of a House bill which seeks a stricter US trade embargo against Cuba has been approved by the Senate on Oct. 19, 1995. The legislation aims to discourage foreign investment in Cuba to cripple the economy and topple the regime of Pres. Fidel Castro Ruiz.

U.N. calls for U.S. embargo repeal
Article Abstract:
The United Nations General Assembly approved on Nov 24, 1992, a resolution calling for the removal of the 29-year US trade embargo against Cuba. The resolution was passed in response to US legislation tightening the embargo.
