Article Abstract:
Three potential ways for management scholars to take an initiative to make a difference to public policy decisions are presented. They should speak more to business groups and participate in more executive development programs in order to help business managers with their knowledge gained from research, also aim to have a better say in public policy issues like workplace safety, employment practices and governance, and also diversify into other oraganizational spheres.

The field of management's devotion to theory: too much of a good thing?

The importance of theory in the field of management, its boons and fetish that may retard ones ability to understand events is described. It is strongly felt that even though theory is important many types of atheoretical or pretheoretical work may help in allowing theory to emerge or develop.

Swinging for the fences: the effects of CEO stock options on company risk taking and performance
Article Abstract:
A study examines managerial risk taking vis-a-vis stock options of the company. Results reveal that stock options instigate CEOs to take unwise risks that could bring huge losses to the company.
