The acute labor shortage has prompted the government to come out with policies encouraging students to leave the prospects of higher education in favor of jobs. If the current trends continue, the old guards running the show in industries like clothing, knitting mills, petroleum refining etc., may soon comprise 85% of the workforce and might even bring these industries to a startling halt around the year 2012.
