Your safe deposit box: What to know, what to do
Article Abstract:
The things to keep in a safe deposit box include personal documents, rare coins and stamps, and family or investment papers such as house deeds. Personal documents include birth, death, divorce, adoption, marriage, military service and education certificates. Business documents should be given to a lawyer and the owner should keep a copy in the office or at home safes. Cash and properties that do not belong to the safe deposit box owner should not be placed in deposit boxes as the IRS may suspect anomalies.
