A bullet for teacher: violence in schools
Article Abstract:
Violence in US schools is rising as more children are bringing guns, knives and other weapons to school with them. A poll showed that out of 2,508 children surveyed, 15% had carried a gun in the last month. Officials seek to stop the violence with more security, more expulsions and smaller schools.

Violence a la canadienne
Article Abstract:
Canada has fewer violent crimes than the US because it has severe restrictions on ownership of guns and its welfare system leaves less motive for violence. Canada has no real inner-city ghettos, but poverty does exist on its Indian reservations.
