A fuzzy goal programming approach for the optimal planning of metropolitan solid waste management systems
Article Abstract:
A fuzzy goal programming approach was developed for the optimal planning of solid waste management systems in a metropolitan region. The fuzzy goal programming for solid waste management included four fuzzy objectives such as economics, noise control, air pollution control and traffic congestion limitation. The proposed fuzzy goal mixed integer programming models was also an effective tool for generating a set of flexible optimal solutions for solving real-world complicated solid waste management issues.

Linear programs for constraint satisfaction problems
Article Abstract:
Choice constraints and exclusion constraints were used to characterize and solve, via integer programming, NP-hard finite constraint satisfaction problems. The solution approach is illustrated through its applications to the n-size conjunctive normal form satisfaction problem, propositional satisfiability (SAT) problem, the quadratic assignment problem, the traveling salesman problem, and the minimal set covering problem.
