A generalized maintenance model for stochastically deteriorating equipment
Article Abstract:
A finite Markov chain model has been developed for developing an effective maintenance program for stochastically deteriorating equipment. The model uses an algorithmic procedure that treats the degree of repair as a decision variable and provides an optimal which reduces the computational complexity of the stochastic problem. It also allows the initiation of repair action at any give time to restore the equipment to an improved state.

A study of defuzzification with experts' knowledge for deteriorating repairable systems
Article Abstract:
In a study, two cases of the discrimination problem with deteriorating repairable systems such as fuzzy states and exact information, and fuzzy states with fuzzy information are examined. The fuzzy decomposition and arithmetic derivation of the experts' opinion are presented to facilitate the development of the Bayesian decision process for deteriorating repairable systems.

Sequential condition-based maintenance scheduling for a deteriorating system
Article Abstract:
The maintenance of a technical device based on a continuous-time random deterioration, monitored through perfect inspections is discussed. It was found through numerical experiments, that there exists a set of parameters leading to a minimal cost.
