Spanish market dips as divestments disappear
Article Abstract:
In 1995, 13 buyout transactions were completed in Spain. Deal value fell to 124 million pounds sterling, from 218 million pounds in 1994. Buyouts accounted for 15% of the total venture capital industry. Average amounts invested rose to 3.9 million Pesetas (Pta), from Pta2.8 million. Notable deals of 1995 included the Pta3 billion buyout of specialist road haulage group, Transports Gerposa. The Spanish buyout industry is discussed further.

Finland over takes Sweden
Article Abstract:
In 1995, Finland and Sweden both reported a drop in the number and value of buyout transactions. Although Finland continues to lead the region in terms of volume, Sweden takes pole position in terms of value. Norway and Denmark both reported an increase in volume transactions, with Denmark also reporting an increasing in value. The buyout markets in the Nordic region is discussed further.
