The emergence of South Africa as an economic and political power, as well as a multiracial democracy, has given the entire African continent a semblance of future prosperity. Continued economic success in South Africa is expected to inspire its African neighbors to introduce free economic systems.

Colonial governments, Cold War competitors and most exploitative western corporations have left sub-Saharan Africa, leaving the tribal conflicts that have always existed. The developed world has given up on the region, which has the poorest, most politically unstable countries on earth.
