A personal eye in the sky
Article Abstract:
Accurate information is important in warfare and is often obtained from aircraft and other airborne vehicles. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of the US aims to promote research into small, cheap aircraft that can be used to provide information. DARPA's work on micro air vehicles (MAVs) includes sponsorship of IGR, and Ohio engineering firm. MAVs may become especially important in an urban environment, though they have a wide range of applications.
