The capabilities of the transnational firm: accessing knowledge and leveraging inter-firm relationships
Article Abstract:
A new study uses a relational perspective to investigate the creation of value in transnational organizations. It is shown that transnational organizations aim to create a distinctive competence that allows them to access new knowledge and to influence inter-company relationships and opportunities in an increasingly competitive environment.

Research is presented concerning the competitive advantage which can be gained by business enterprises who are involved in building knowledge webs. The three main factors which add value to the knowledge web are discussed.
