Mexico's economic collapse has not been slowed by the US-led aid package and are threatening to spread to other Latin American countries.Argentine Economy minister Domingo Cavallo vows not to devalue that country's peso, which is fixed to the US dollar. Argentina's economic woes are described.

Rohingya refugees from the Myanmar region of Arakan have sought safe haven in Bangladesh, where they are free from religious persecution as Muslims. However, the Bangladeshi government wants the Rohingyas repatriated, and has made conditions in the refugee camps near Cox's Bazar difficult.
